Meet the Stars of Dancing with the Desert Stars

The dance floor is almost ready, and the excitement is building for Dancing with the Desert Stars, benefiting the Scully Learning Center Foundation!

On Saturday, September 19, local personalities will step out of their everyday roles and onto the dance floor at Spirit in the Desert Retreat Center in Carefree. It will be an evening of music, dancing, friendly competition, and plenty of fun, all while supporting adults with developmental disabilities and their families in our community.

Emma Parkhouse of Arizona’s Family and Your Life Arizona is a Valley native and graduate of ASU’s Walter Cronkite School of Journalism. After several years reporting and anchoring in South Carolina, Emma returned home to Arizona and joined the Your Life Arizona team. She’s comfortable in front of the camera, but how will she do on the dance floor?

Lexi Lambert, multimedia journalist and reporter for CW7 Arizona’s Arizona Daily Mix, brings a competitive side to the dance floor. A Grand Canyon University graduate, Lexi played Ultimate Frisbee at GCU, continues as an assistant coach, and is a practice player with the Arizona Sidewinders. Athleticism plus competitive spirit could make Lexi one to watch!

Allison Rodriguez spent more than a decade as a familiar face on Valley television, including her years as a reporter and anchor for ABC15. She now serves as Media Relations Manager for Mayo Clinic. Allison’s motto is “Do all things with love,” which seems especially fitting for a night dedicated to helping others.

Valentin Mendoza has nearly 20 years of acting experience and holds degrees in Theatre and Communications from Arizona State University. His stage, film, and commercial work means he knows how to perform for an audience. He’s also a certified personal trainer, so the other stars may want to start practicing!
