Scully Learning Center Joins Kiwanis of Carefree’s Pancake Breakfast

There’s something magical about the smell of fresh pancakes in the morning, especially when they’re served with a side of community spirit. This year’s Kiwanis Club of Carefree Pancake Breakfast was more than just a delicious event—it was a true celebration of service, inclusion, and the power of giving back.

At Scully Learning Center, we’re incredibly proud of our ongoing relationship with the Kiwanis Club of Carefree, a group that shares our commitment to building a stronger, more compassionate community. Their generous support helps us continue our mission of empowering individuals with developmental disabilities, and this event gave our participants a chance to return the favor, with bottles of water in hand!

Several of our Scully participants volunteered their time by passing out water to guests throughout the morning. With friendly smiles and a sense of pride, they made sure everyone stayed hydrated and happy while enjoying their pancakes and sausage. For many, it was a joyful reminder that everyone has something to give—and that true community is built when we all come together to lift one another up.

The breakfast buzzed with conversation, laughter, and that unmistakable feeling of neighborly connection. It wasn’t just about pancakes—it was about purpose. Scully Learning Center participants felt the pride of contributing to an event that supports local youth programs, scholarships, and more. Being able to serve alongside the Kiwanis members who have long supported us made it even more meaningful.
